We are currently seeking an eager Medicaid Pending Specialist to join our team in Kansas.

Essential Functions:

  1. Responsible for ensuring the collection and completion of all required documentation for new and recertified Medicaid enrollment for residents, including but not limited to: Face sheet, Medicaid application, Insurance forms, and financial information. Works with Business Office Managers to enlist their help in securing the documentation necessary for a clean, Medicaid application without gaps in coverage.
  2. Responsible to secure financial documentation required for Medicaid application within 10 days of application and setting appointments for financial review with local DHS office.
  3. Responsible for backing up the Business Office Manager where necessary in regards to Medicaid applications and collections.

 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  1. Ensure Medicaid application is completed accurately and signed by Resident/Responsible Party. 
  2. Complete entire Financial Questioner (all resources) for Resident/Responsible Party signature. 
  3. Review QIT bank account as required for residents with resources exceeding the allowed amount. 
  4. Calendar appointment for Responsible Party to return all necessary paperwork to Intake Coordinator required Medicaid application (Birth certificate, marriage license, death certificate of spouse, 3 months of bank statements, Certificate of Deposit, Annuities, Retirement Income/Accounts, Stocks, Bonds, other personnel assets, life insurance certificate, insurance policies, etc.) 
  5. Complete Direct Deposit to Resident Trust Fund (signed by Resident/Responsible Party) 
  6. Hand deliver, mail, or complete Electronic Medicaid applications with in 10-14 days of notification of the resident's payer change to Med Pending. 
  7. Call and confirm receipt of Medicaid application and any missing documentation needed with 14-21 days of initial completion of application. 
  8. Conduct a Monthly Medicaid pending meeting to include Administrator; Social Service Director and Business Office Manager. Document updates on Medicaid pending log for each resident pending Medicaid. 
  9.  Monitor and complete Resident annual Medicaid reviews 
  10. Ensures integrity and confidentially of all patient financial data. 
  11. Adheres to all facility Standards of Practice as well as state and federal guidelines. 
  12. Participates in conference call for Accounts Receivable reviews. 
  13. Travel (up to 25%) to Mission Communities in Kansas, as well as face to face visits with Case workers.           
  14. Assist Business Office Manager in any and all collections if necessary

This position will be based in Kansas and will work out of one of our Kansas Communities when not traveling.
